On Thursday night at 10 P.M., a large fire broke out at the Apex Facility. At this time, the fires is not yet completely extinguished.

Due to the late time that the fire occurred, no one was at the facility and there were not any casualties.

Because of the diverse nature of the materials stored at the plant, the cause of the fire is not yet known, therefore, it has become a top priority to determine what caused the fire, so that action can take place in order to prevent further instances. Because no one was in the facility, no foul play has been suspected, though it has not been ruled out as a possibility. Investigators will be assigned the duty of determining the cause and proper action will follow their opinion.

There have been some rumors spreading over this incident. Many people have called in asking if the facility stored extremely dangerous chlorine gas and if the fire was spreading to other nearby businesses. It is not, and the rumors spreading are false. The fire has not spread, but it has been brought under control by special industry firefighters. We hired these firefighters immediately when the fire broke out. They have worked throughout the night and we are grateful for their persistent service which has in turn stopped the fires from spreading.

Attention residents! As you know the facility in your area had a malfunction and explosions exposing your area to toxic waste. We apologize for this and we know that you probably have been going through a tough time due to the evacuation. However, we have good news, our staff and team was able to to into the area and clean up all the waste and remove all the toxic waste. Since no serious damage occurred in the area, you and your family will be able to return to your homes tomorrow after 8:00 A.M. Once again, we apologize for the inconvenience of the evacuation but it had to happen for the safety of you and the community. If you notice anything wrong or your begin to see damage around your house or an area that may have not been cleaned up, please call the respective authorities immediately! This however, should not be a problem since our team has been working non-stop to make sure the area is clean and safe for all families in the surroundings.

After the fire several dozen residents in the neighborhood were admitted to St. Jude’s local hospital with complains of breathing problems and savvier cough. Most of them have been released already; about a dozen emergency responders from around the country had to run in a panic to treat the fire.

This afternoon we contacted the North Carolina State Department of Environment and Natural Resources. A direct quote form the representatives confirms that the test conducted at this point “had not detected anything out of the ordinary in the air.” We will continue to be in contact with this department for updates in order to continue protecting the residents and environment of Apex.

We would like to express our most sincere thanks to all of the”front-line” first responder teams who come to aid and worked in “unison” as the professionals they are. Than you all so much. If further assistance or questions please feel free to call EQIS’s toll free hot line for more information.
